32 LONDONERS ~ THE LONDON EYE

ON MAY 1ST a very special event is planned, when an evening celebration will mark the fifteenth anniversary of the London Eye.

Before the event guests will mingle and then take to the Eye for an hour's ride during which they will be entertained with tales of the city's famed residents. I'll be speaking about Marie Lloyd, the Queen of the music halls whose life was filled with highs and lows worthy of any sensation novel. And while slowly rising up into the sky all guests will be served bespoke cocktails created by Hendrick's Gin - with each concoction uniquely designed to commemorate the Londoner concerned.

When the talk is over the party will go on with a chance to meet each of the 32 speakers - including Claire Tomalin, and Sir Andrew Motion, Ken Livingstone, Julian Temple and Robert Elms. But please do see the event website to view everyone who'll be there on the night and to get a true flavour of what's involved. It's going to be quite a ride!
