MURDER, MYSTERY AND MAYHEM

As the days draw in and darken, what better way to spend an evening than in the company of these three Victorian novelists who will be discussing their passion for the era that inspired them.

Exploring the earliest years of forensic science in the solving of criminal cases, D. E. Meredith's 'Devoured' is the first in a thrilling series of novels which feature the charismatic detectives, Hatton & Roumande.

Lynn Shepherd's 'Tom-All-Alones' has received a great many tributes for its skilful reinterpretation of the world first imagined by Dickens in his masterpiece, 'Bleak House'. But this gripping murder mystery explores the grim reality of a vicious London underworld that Dickens could only hint at.

'The Somnambulist' and 'Elijah's Mermaid' are Essie Fox's Victorian novels in which psychological dramas reveal tales of betrayal and mystery while exploring the shadowy demimonde in which nothing is quite what it seems to be.
